Experience the thrill of realistic scale car racing at the Wonders of the Natural World Family Day.
Retired civil engineer and Goring resident Ron Murray spent three years meticulously building a massive computer-controlled scenic Scalextric race track in his garage, and now he’s bringing the Goring Slot Racing Circuit to the GAP Festival for everyone to enjoy.
This impressive 1:32 scale track measures 28 metres from start to finish and is designed to challenge even the most experienced drivers, featuring uphill and downhill slopes, hairpin bends, chicanes, bridges, and tunnels. Up to 6 cars race at a time with sound effects and lane changing to overtake - you can even enter the pit lane to refuel your car!
Watch as the model cars fly around the circuit at a scale equivalent of up to 200mph, and the race positions and lap times unfold on the leaderboard mounted above the layout.
Whether you are looking to test your racing skills or simply admire the craftsmanship of the model, it is an unmissable experience for families and hobbyists alike.
