The GAP Festival team is excited to announce the extension for entries to our inaugural Film Festival competition for local young film makers. We are inviting youngsters of all school ages from Berkshire and Oxfordshire to get digitally creative and make/submit their short films.
The films will be shortlisted by a group of industry professionals and shown on screen at a special red carpet event on the last day of the GAP Festival - Sunday 12 June 2022 - in Goring Village Hall.
Prizes have been generously donated by The Arts Society Goring and Film Oxford. Each category winner will receive a voucher for a two day film course (up to a value of £150) run by local arts and creative media charity Film Oxford, to continue building their filmmaking skills and knowledge.
Here is what you need to know about your film:
There are 4 categories which to enter:
Individual entries must have films completed by only 1 person (ie writer, filming, editing) but does not include the use of actors or third party music.
Group entries can be made by multiple persons and there is no limit on the number of people in any group but all persons must be within the same age grouping as specified in the category. Primary/Secondary School Group can have a mixture of people from Primary and Secondary age or just from one age group. This does not include the use of actors or third party music.
Films will be shortlisted by a jury of fellow professionals and will be judged on:

- Primary and Secondary School age films must adhere to a U Universal rating - Suitable for all - as defined by the BBFC (https://www.bbfc.co.uk/rating/U)
- Films can be on any subject matter or format; for example they can be scripted, documentary, animation, or even a film trailer!
- Films must be no more than 3 minutes in total duration (including the length of any on screen credits)
