The GAP Festival - Mission Statement
Our Purpose
The GAP Festival is designed as a celebration of arts in our culturally thriving community.
In an eclectic programme we include literary events, music of many kinds, performing arts and visual arts as well as running fringe events in the local pubs and clubs, and sending workshop leaders into schools. In addition, food plays an important role.
We have a commitment to the whole community, using a myriad of venues both indoors and outdoors, and we work closely with groups of all kinds within our community when we bring professional events to the Goring Gap during the festival.
Our villages are divided by the River Thames, but joined by the bridges, and both are Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We plan a programme that encourages our visitors to explore and enjoy the area as well as the arts events and workshops.
Our Vision
We aim to attract nationally acclaimed artists to the festival from a variety of fields. In addition the Festival supports and encourages the professional artists within our community to expand the already thriving cultural activities here.
Our aim is always the highest standard of professionalism and we attract some of the UK’s best artists in their field. The GAP Festival strives to support and encourage the professional artists within our community and to expand the already thriving cultural activities here by bringing in nationally acclaimed artists to the Festival.
